Man Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of Kel-Tec 9mm Sub-2000 Folding Rifle

“On January 18, 2022, at 2:42 p.m., Santa Rosa Police Department received a report of a subject with a gun in the parking lot of Safeway located at 1799 Marlow Road. Responding officers were provided a description of the involved vehicle, and that the vehicle occupants were in a argument.
Arriving officers located the associated vehicle and detained three occupants. The vehicle was a black Hyundai sedan. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a Kel-Tec 9mm Sub-2000 folding rifle with a 30-round high-capacity magazine.
An additional 9mm magazine loaded with ammunition was also found in the vehicle. During the investigation, officers learned the vehicle occupants were all acquaintances. While they were together in the vehicle, an argument ensued, and the suspect pointed the rifle at one of the other occupants.
The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Santa Rosa resident Francisco Reyes-Quevas. Reyes-Quevas was arrested and transported to the Santa Rosa Police Department for further investigation. Reyes-Quevas was on felony probation with terms to submit to warrantless search and seizure of his residence by law enforcement.
Immediately following his arrest, Detectives from the Property Crimes Investigations and Violent Crimes Investigations Teams completed a probation search at Reyes-Quevas residence within the 2100-block of Jennings Avenue. During the search, detectives located additional magazines, firearm parts, ammunition, and a machine gun converter “switch.”
Reyes-Quevas was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility for the following charges;
• 32625(a) PC – Possession of Machine Gun Parts
• 33215 PC – Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle
• 30605 PC – Possession of an Assault Rifle
• 29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
• 245(a)(2) PC – Assault with a Deadly Weapon
• 1203.2 PC – Violation of Probation (Felony)”
