“San Mateo, CA- On Friday, January 21, 2022, at approximately 7:11 p.m., San Mateo Police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda for a vehicle violation near the intersection of South Norfolk Street and Shoreview Avenue.
Officers determined that the driver, later identified as Yahya Bolak, was on probation and subject to a search. Two passengers in the vehicle were identified as Lani Manumalanga and Lutoviko Ahoia. Manumalanga was also on probation and subject to search, and he had two outstanding warrants for gun charges.
SMPD officers conducted a search of both Bolak and Manumalanga. Prior to being searched, Ahoia, disclosed he possessed a gun in his pocket. SMPD officers detained Ahoia and seized the firearm without incident.
All three subjects were safely secured before a search of the vehicle commenced. During the search of the vehicle, SMPD officers located approximately 67.21 grams of marijuana packed for sales. Additionally, officers located various types of packaged edible psilocybin and $594 in cash.
Based upon the location of cash, packaged narcotics, and firearm, officers determined that the individuals were likely engaging in drug sales. Officers seized all items as evidence. All three subjects were transported to SMPD headquarters, cited, and released from SMPD.
