MERCED- Officers arrested Branden Gonzales (22) for gang member/felon possession of a firearm & ammunition and active participation in a criminal street gang.
On 1/22/22 at 8:57 PM, Officer Arturo Gaona investigated suspicious gang activity inside the Merced Cemetery at the 1400 block of B Street. He detained Gonzales after a brief foot pursuit and discovered a loaded firearm that was discarded on the cemetery grounds.
Gonzales was arrested for several illegal weapon charges and gang enhancements. He was booked into custody at the Merced County Jail.
