PLEASANT HILL — One unlucky man faces 13 charges in connection with an armedrobbery of a business, where employees recognized him from prior thefts. The same suspect has been arrested three times since December.
Brett M. Abril, 30 of Concord, was most recently arrested on January 26. Abril was located and arrested at a gas station in Martinez, after purportedly fleeing from a Pleasant Hill business.
The suspect entered the business that day on the 2100 block of Contra Costa Boulevard at approximately 6:15 p.m. He brandished a taser at employees, before fleeing with $800 worth of stolen property. No one was reported injured.
Abril was identified as the suspect by employees who recognized him from prior thefts. He was taken into custody by Pleasant Hill officers at 8:22 p.m. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
At the time of his arrest, Abril was found in possession of a taser and stolen property, which was recovered. He remains in custody in lieu of $26,000 bond, pending a court hearing on February 10.
