“A man from North Hollywood has been arrested for murder, evading police, and several weapons charges after a fatal shooting in Ontario.
The suspect, 31-year-old Gilbert Conorquie, was involved in an altercation with the victim before shooting the victim multiple times and fleeing the scene, according to the Ontario Police Department press release.
The incident took place on January 24th in front of an apartment complex in the 1700 block of East D Street. Police were called out at almost 11:30 PM after the gunshots were fired. When they arrived, they watched Conorquie speed away in a vehicle.
Conorquie refused to pull over in response to officers’ commands and instead led them on a pursuit to the City of North Hollywood, where the suspect finally decided to surrender. Officers arrested Conorquie without incident and found a firearm inside the vehicle.
“The victim’s information is not available at this time, pending Coroner’s notification of next of kin,” according to the release.
Conorquie was booked at West Valley Detention Center.”
