‘”Yesterday at about 5pm, 60 year-old Defendant Alfredo Ruvalcaba of Artois, CA was convicted by a jury of First Degree Murder with the Use of a Firearm. The 10-day homicide jury trial was conducted at the Orland Fairgrounds.
This incident occurred on July 4, 2015 when Defendant drove to the home of 16 year-old Melissa Esquivel-Flores in Nord, CA and brought her to his shop in Artois, CA while she was wearing only a bra and panties.
After having sex with her, he shot her in the face with a shotgun. The sentencing will be heard on March 11, 2022 after over 6.5 years of litigation in this case.
This case was prosecuted by Dwayne Stewart District Attorney with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Felton, Deputy Rasmussen, Lieutenant Gibbs, Search and Rescue, and DA Chief Investigator Kelly Knight.
