“On 01/25/22 around 0500 hours, a male subject burglarized a storage building belonging to Napa Auto Parts. The suspect was caught on surveillance video utilizing a saw to cut the lock on the door to the storage building. The suspect stole two Acetylene gas tanks and fled on foot.
Employees from Napa Auto Parts recalled a recent customer inquiring about the Acetylene gas tanks several days earlier.
After reviewing surveillance video, it was believed that the suspect was Micah Sims, age 39, of Corning. Corning Police Officers responded to Mr. Sims residence and conducted a Probation search.
During the search, Officers discovered the two stolen Acetylene gas tanks inside Mr. Sims residence. Mr. Sims admitted to the burglary and was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail for the above listed violations. The Acetylene gas tanks were returned to Napa Auto Parts.”
