“On January 19, 2022 Investigators with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office and Officers with the California Highway Patrol served a search warrant at a residence on the 1400 block of Main Street in Weaverville, CA.
During the service of the search warrant, Investigators found small amounts of Methamphetamine, a sawed-off shotgun, a short-barreled assault rifle, a .22 caliber rifle, several high-capacity magazines, numerous rounds of rifle ammunition and a suspected homemade explosive device.
The Butte County Interagency Bomb Squad was requested and responded from Chico, CA. They determined the device was indeed an explosive, took necessary measures to render it safe and secured it for evidence.
The renter of the residence and a portion of the property was later taken into custody and booked into Trinity County Jail without incident.

11377HS – Possess of controlled substance
33215 PC – Possession of short barreled shotgun
18720 PC – Possession of materials used for Explosive, Destructive Device
12305HS – Illegal use or possession of Explosive
18715PC – Reckless possession of Explosive, Destructive Device
