Police arrest seven more suspects in February 2021 gang-related shooting in Ontario

Nearly one year after a shooting incident in Ontario involving several rival gang members and the arrest of five suspects, police have arrested seven additional suspects.
The shooting incident occurred on February 17, 2021, in the 1500 N. block of Solano Avenue. According to the release, the rival gang members “fired recklessly at each other, striking several homes and vehicles in the neighborhood.”
In August, police successfully identified and arrested five of the suspects, who were each charged with felon in possession of a firearm and/or ammunition. Further investigation led to the arrest of seven more suspects.
On January 18, 2022, police arrested Brian Carrier (25) of Lancaster, Michael Gittoes (48) of Pasadena, and Derrick Rodgers (24) of Ontario. On January 19th, James Taylor (34) of Lancaster, Darrell Gaddie (26) of Pasadena, and Aries McDaniels (31) of Duarte were arrested. Finally, on January 21st police arrested Keenan Edwards (31) of Fontana.
Police also recovered a stolen firearm, which was booked as evidence.
The suspects are being held for firearm, felon, and gang participation charges.
“These arrests are the result of a joint effort with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabaco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Taskforce, the Pasadena Police Department, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR),” according to the police news release.
