“The Crime Suppression Team in Southeastern Division proactively patrols areas with a high volume of violent crimes. They noticed a car being driven at a high rate of speed with a vehicle violation.
Officers pulled the car over and recognized the passenger as having multiple cases involving firearms. The man was asked to exit the vehicle so he could be patted down.
The officer quickly noticed a large bulge in his pocket. The man then told the officer that he had a gun. The officer removed the gun and a 29 round capacity magazine from his pocket.
Once he was arrested, they found Xanax and money near the passenger door. The officers later learned that the man was out on bail.
The passenger was arrested for gun-related charges, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and committing a felony while on bail. The driver was released on the scene.”
