“On February 5, 2022, at approximately 9:30 pm, a deputy was patrolling the area of Buckhorn Ridge Road in Pioneer, when he attempted an enforcement stop on a Hyundai Santa Fe for various traffic violations.
The driver of the Hyundai failed to stop and led the deputy on a pursuit that traveled down Pioneer Creek Road, onto Defender Grade and then onto Highway 26.
Upon reaching the Calaveras County line, the driver stopped the vehicle in the roadway and fled on foot into the woods. The deputy gave chase and upon catching up to the driver, he physically resisted the deputy.
After a struggle and subsequent deployment of a taser, the driver was taken into custody. Fortunately, our deputy was not injured.
After obtaining medical attention, the driver, 53 year old Kevin McFadden of Emlenton, Pennsylvania was booked for felony evading, resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer and drug charges. He was also found to have multiple warrants out of Pennsylvania.”
