“Merced – On February 3, 2022 Merced PD Officers followed up on a tip of a wanted person. Simon Ruiz Soriano (40), had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Soriano had a $2,000,000 warrant for continued sexual abuse of a child 10 years or younger. Soriano also had an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation.
Detective Cruz Jasso worked with the Merced County District Attorney’s Office to get charges filed against Soriano.
On February 3, 2022 Officer Leah Garcia learned of Soriano’s location on E Cone Ave. Officer Garcia and other officers of the Merced Police Department took Soriano into custody without incident.
Soriano was questioned and booked into Merced County Jail.”
