“This morning around 4:30 AM, we received a report of a carjacking in the 300 block of Bill Avenue. During that offense, an adult male suspect brandished a firearm at the victim and took the victim’s vehicle.
At 5:49 AM, we responded to a report of a vehicle that collided into a residence in the 1700 block of Alta Vista Drive. We determined that the vehicle was the victim vehicle from the Bill Avenue carjacking and was still occupied by the uncooperative suspect. We were able to negotiate the suspect’s surrender and Israel Wilson (24) of Bakersfield was taken into custody. A BB gun was located in his possession.
Wilson was arrested for carjacking and associated charges. He was transported to an area hospital for injuries sustained during the collision with the residence. The home was occupied; however, no one else was injured.”
