Fresno police arrest suspect in connection to shooting that killed two, wounded two others

Fresno Police have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a recent shooting which killed two people and wounded two others.
Police responded on the evening of Sunday, February 6, to the 1100 block of East Lorena Avenue to investigate multiple reports of gunfire. At the scene, officers discovered four victims had suffered gunshot wounds.
Two of the victims, 43-year-old Roman Cervantes and 27-year-old Jose Herrera Mojica, were ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. The other two, a 47-year-old man and a 17-year-old juvenile, were hospitalized with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities and are reportedly in stable condition.
Investigators soon identified 22-year-old Juan Carlos Canada, a member of the Lao Bloods gang, as the primary suspect.
Canada was located and arrested on Thursday, February 10, and booked on suspicion of murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
