Drivers Pursued from Vintage Oaks Shopping Center Arrested in Separate Incidents
NOVATO — Police pursued two suspects from Vintage Oaks Shopping Center in separate incidents and arrested them February 20. One of the suspects, a convicted felon on parole with an outstanding warrant, has been arrested 30 times since 2014.
Shawn L. Green, 30 of Oakland, was pursued from Novato to San Francisco, with assistance from California Highway Patrol. Green was detained by SFPD and later arrested by Novato officers.
Green allegedly nearly ran over a Novato patrol officer, while fleeing from the shopping center at 3:48 p.m. Someone had reported seeing him sitting inside an SUV with a handgun.
Novato police pursued Green along Highway 101, until California Highway Patrol took over. He fled to San Francisco, where he crashed. From inside the SUV police recovered two replica firearms. Green was booked into Marin County Jail at 8 p.m.
His charges include assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, burglary, and parole violation. In addition, he faces two charges for evading an officer with disregard for safety and driving the wrong way.
Green was arrested nine times in 2021 for burglary, drug possession, weapons, and other offenses. Between 2014 to 2020, Green was arrested 19 times for battery and burglary, and other offenses.
Qirra Pederson, a 19-year-old Alameda County resident, is the second suspect pursued from Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. She was spotted at 4:48 p.m. driving a vehicle reported stolen from Ventura County.
Pederson was arrested following a traffic stop a short distance from the shopping center. She was booked at Marin County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle. Evidence of suspected retail theft was found inside the car, subject to further investigation.
