“On Saturday evening, deputies responded to a seven-round ShotSpotter Activation that led them to the backyard of a residence on Harrison Street in north Sacramento County.
Patrol deputies along with K9 arrived on the scene and made contact with the owner of the residence – 38-year-old adult male. He initially provided consent for deputies to check the backyard of the residence, but once deputies located bullet casings, he withdrew the consent for any further search.
Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) was contacted and deputies authored a search warrant for the residence.
Once the GSU detectives arrived and the search warrant was signed, a search of the premises was conducted. An AR-15 pistol with a 50-round drum magazine and two handguns were located in the backyard. Deputies also found rifle magazines in the children’s bedroom.
Furthermore, the search yielded gang indicia that was located in the suspect’s room; he later admitted to being a gang member. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail where he was held on a bail amount of $50,000. He was able to make bail the next day and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
The recovered firearms (pictured below) were booked into evidence; we are grateful to be able to seize these weapons and make our community a little bit safer.
