“Last Sunday, around 6:00 A.M, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a call of multiple gunshots fired in the Eldel Road area of Pine Grove, followed by the sound of a vehicle speeding away.
Deputies responded and discovered a vehicle in front of a residence with multiple bullet holes. Additional investigation revealed a vehicle located at a neighboring residence was also struck which prevented the bullets from hitting the house. Fortunately, no parties were injured as a result of the shooting.
Deputies conducted interviews of the occupants staying at the targeted residence and were able to develop leads on the suspects and a description of their vehicle. A message was sent to all regional law enforcement agencies asking them to be on the lookout for the suspects and their associated vehicle.
Deputies from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle and contacted 30-year-old Jason Mario Leonardini of Lathrop and 33-year-old James Lazetera of Stockton. Both subjects were placed under arrest by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office; Leonardini for an outstanding warrant and Lazetera for obstruction of justice while on Post Release Community Supervision.
Amador Sheriff’s detectives drafted a search warrant for the suspect vehicle and recovered two firearms along with additional evidence linking the suspects to the shooting. Leonardini and Lazetera will be facing charges of discharging a firearm at an occupied house/vehicle, being a precluded person in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
We would like to thank the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in helping us safely resolve this investigation.”
