“On 02/26/22, at approx. 7:30p.m., Officers responded to a report of a non-injury collision near Elm Ave/McFarland St. Officers arrived and determined the driver of a silver Infiniti sedan showed objective signs and symptoms of intoxication.
Officers’ conducted their DUI investigation and the driver was found to be DUI. The driver was identified as Louis Sieler, 38, of Galt. Due to the terms of his DMV court-ordered probation, it was illegal for him to have a BAC of more than 0.01%. He also had three prior DUI convictions within the last 10 years.
Sieler was transported to Sacramento County Main Jail where he was booked on charges of DUI with priors (felony), driving with a BAC of .01+ while on DMV probation, and driving on a suspended DL for prior DUI.
Had Sieler not been on court probation, he still would have been three times above the legal limit (0.08% BAC) to operate a vehicle.
DUI is 100% preventable, yet people continue to make poor choices and chose to drive while impaired risking their own lives and others. We are happy to report the other involved driver did not sustain any injuries from the collision.”
