“During the early morning hours of February 23, 2022, John W. George,33 from Yuba City was involved in a solo vehicle collision on Township Road south of Oswald Road. CHP officers responded and during the investigation they located several ID cards, Driver Licenses, stimulus checks, checks, vehicle registration cards, vehicle titles, access badges, ID badges, W-2’s, and a sawed-off shotgun.
In the documents was a cite and release from the Yuba City Police Department from 2/6/2022 for 496 D PC -possession of a stolen vehicle. The addresses on the documents were from Oroville, Yuba City, Marysville, Grass Valley, Nevada City etc. The vehicle George crashed was a 2009 blue BMW M3.
CHP officers arrested George for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a short barrel shotgun, and identity theft. He was booked into the Sutter County Jail. More charges are likely to be added as the case progresses.
