“On 2/28/22 at about 9:00am, a citizen contacted the SCSO to report her tractor was stolen from an address in Montague. The citizen reported the suspects cut her locked gate to gain access to her property where they then stole the tractor. The stolen tractor was later posted for sale on Facebook Marketplace. During the investigation the SCSO was able to determine the location of the stolen tractor at an address in the Hammond Ranch area.
On 3/1/22, the SCSO executed a search warrant at the Hammond Ranch address. During the search the stolen tractor was located along with 412 pounds of processed marijuana that had a street value of approximately $290,000. The SCSO contacted two males on the property who were identified as 33 year-old Jared Michael Bach from Weed, and 43 year-old Jacob Eugene Taylor from Redding.
Taylor was determined to be on parole out of California. Also located on the premises was a firearm and ammunition. Both Taylor and Bach were determined to be convicted felons which prohibited them from being able to possess firearms and ammunition.
Taylor and Bach were both placed under arrest and transported to the Siskiyou County Jail. Bach was booked for felony vehicle theft, felony possession of stolen property, felony possession of a firearm, felony possession of ammunition, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and several felony warrants. Taylor was booked for felony vehicle theft, felony possession of stolen property, felony possession of a firearm, felony possession of ammunition, as well as being in violation of his parole status.”
