Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Armed Robbery Suspects and Recover 2 Firearms

MILL VALLEY — Four robbery suspects were arrested after the getaway car crashed near a gas station. The armed foursome allegedly robbed a camera shop located at Strawberry Village Shopping Center.
Marin County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched when the robbery was reported March 8. A Mill Valley police officer heard the call for law enforcement in the adjacent unincorporated community of Strawberry.
The MVPD officer responded first and attempted to stop the suspects fleeing by car. A short distance away, this car carrying the suspects crashed near the Arco gas station, located at 789 Redwood Highway.
All four suspects fled the crash on foot, but they were located nearby and arrested by deputies. Officers from Mill Valley, Novato, Tiburon, and California Highway Patrol assisted them.
In addition to stolen property, two firearms were located and recovered in connection with the armed robbery. Three suspects were booked at Marin County Jail. The fourth suspect is a 17- year-old juvenile.
One of the suspects Matthew X. Dorsey, 21 of Richmond, is a convicted felon with several prior arrests. Dorsey, a warehouse worker, faces robbery, conspiracy, and multiple firearms-related charges. He was held in custody in lieu of $175,000 bond.
Willetta Fleming, 21 of Richmond, faces four charges for carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, and obstructing/resisting an officer. Fleming who works in retail was held in custody in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Kavante Andry, 18 of Santa Clara, was also taken into custody. Andry faces charges for receiving or concealing stolen property, conspiracy, and resisting/obstructing an officer.
