A Fresno County man was recently arrested following an altercation that resulted in two teenagers suffering injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
On the evening of Saturday, March 12, police responded to Fashion Fair Mall in Fresno for a report of an altercation. At the scene, officers located two juveniles, age 16 and 17, having suffered injuries — one of them suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to the armpit and the other had been struck over the back of the head with an unknown object, the Sheriff’s Office said. Both received treatment at a nearby medical center.
Officers then reviewed security video which reportedly showed the two teens involved in an argument with a man, later identified as 27-year-old Prophet Hillard, which ultimately turned physical.
Officers soon located Hillard hiding in one of the mall’s bathrooms, where they also reportedly found additional evidence connecting him to the altercation and stabbing.
Hillard was ultimately arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing serious injury. Though his bail was initially set at $45,000, it was later raised to $75,000 due to a gang enhancement charge.
