BERKELEY — A pizza deliveryman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another man in a parking lot on San Pablo Avenue. The suspect remains in custody in lieu of $335,000 bond, pending a plea hearing on March 21.
Alex Misha Foster, a 28-year-old North Berkeley resident, was taken into custody by Berkeley police on March 14 at 3:40 p.m. He is presently being housed at Santa Rita Jail, located in Dublin.
Apparently, Foster approached a man at a garbage dumpster and a physical altercation erupted. After fighting briefly, Foster walked away, returned with a knife, and allegedly lunged at the victim. The victim sustained stab wounds in his forearm, which required medical treatment.
Foster also allegedly threatened an elderly man, who witnessed the attack in the parking lot of a Dollar Tree store. The suspect was still in the vicinity when responding officers located and arrested him. He was carrying a large kitchen knife tucked inside his waistband.
The Alameda District Attorney’s Office filed multiple charges against Foster on March 15. His charges include assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, and special allegations.
Foster was on probation at the time of his arrest, and his probation was revoked on March 16. He has prior convictions for exhibiting a deadly weapon and vandalism, stemming from criminal cases involving other violent incidents.
