Two arrested in fatal shooting of Stockton man in Tracy

The Tracy Police Department has announced two arrests in connection to a recent fatal shooting.

49-year-old Jeremy Wayne Jones and 42-year-old Christina Lyn Garner, both of Manteca, have been identified and arrested as the primary suspects in the fatal shooting of Justin Peoples, 30, of Stockton.

Peoples was shot during an alleged altercation at the Chevron gas station on North Tracy Boulevard on the night of Tuesday, March 15. He was quickly transported San Joaquin General Hospital and remained in critical condition for a time, but ultimately passed away about two hours later, police said.

By 9:15 the next morning, detectives had identified Jones and Garner as the primary suspects. Detectives located and arrested the pair on the 1500 block of De Ovan Avenue in Stockton, and booked them on suspicion of murder.
