The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has made three arrests amid the largest fentanyl bust in county history.
The initial investigation began in September of 2021, with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force monitoring an alleged drug trafficking organization suspected of circulating “M30” fentanyl pills throughout the county, the Sheriff’s Office said.
This past Tuesday, March 22, a multi-agency assembly consisting of the Drug Task Force, the Sheriff’s Office, and Eureka PD served search warrants at three affiliated locations.
During the searches, authorities confiscated over 15,000 fentanyl pills, several firearms, and a large amount of cash, the Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities also arrested three individuals, identified as Robert Moorehead (24, of Arcata), James Bingham (59, of Eureka), and Richard West (37, of Eureka).
All three face numerous charges related to the alleged drug operation and subsequent bust, including conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, possession of a machine gun, and maintaining a drug house, the Sheriff’s Office said.
