Chico PD: Two arrested during traffic stop after guns, drugs, and cash found in vehicle

“On March 26, 2022 at approximately 0249 hours, a Chico Police Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle at Cohasset Road near Parmac Road. Throughout the investigation the Officers on scene were able to obtain enough information to conduct a search of the driver and passenger as well as a search of the vehicle itself. During the search Officers located two firearms, 5.7 ounces of powdered heroin, 1⁄2 ounce of methamphetamine, two sets of metal knuckles, and an undisclosed amount of currency.
The driver of the vehicle, Joshua Massey, was arrested for 25400(a)(1) PC – Carrying a Concealed Firearm, 29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, 30305(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of Ammunition, 11378 H&S- Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale, 11379 H&S – Transportation of Methamphetamine, 11351 H&S – Possession of Heroin for Sale, and 11352 H&S – Transportation of Heroin.
The passenger of the vehicle, Jerad Potts, was arrested for 25400(a)(1) PC – Carrying a Concealed Firearm, 29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, 30305(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of Ammunition, 21810 PC – Possession of Metal Knuckles, and 11350 H&S- Possession of Heroin.”
