Jonathan Ornelas, a 21-year-old man from Rancho Cucamonga, has been accused of raping an intoxicated, unconscious person at a house party. Police believe there may be other victims.
The rape occurred at a Rancho Cucamonga residence in January. “Initial investigation revealed the victim became intoxicated while attending the party and went to sleep at the residence,” said Rancho Cucamonga Police Detective Michael Roth. “A short time later, Jonathan Ornelas raped the unconscious victim.”
A case against Ornelas was presented to the District Attorney’s Office after further evidence to substantiate the claim was gathered. Ornelas was charged with raping an intoxicated person, and a $250,000 arrest warrant was subsequently issued for him.
Ornelas was arrested on March 25th and is currently out on bail.
“During the investigation, information was obtained leading detectives to believe there may be additional victims who may have been sexually assaulted by Ornelas,” says Detective Roth.
