Two arrested in connection to recent armed robberies in Fresno area

Fresno police have announced the arrest of a suspect in a series of armed robberies throughout the months of March and April, as well as a second individual on suspicion of being an accomplice in several of them.
Police say 35-year-old Anthony Gainey is the primary suspect in a total of seven armed robberies — on March 26 at an Arco gas station on North Broadway, March 28 at the G Mart on North Maple Avenue, and March 30 at Airport Liquor on East McKinley, as well as an armed vehicle robbery in the area of Fowler and Tulare Avenues on March 31, a Circle K on North Peach on April 2, a Sinclar gas station on Avenue 10-1/2 on April 5, and another armed vehicle robbery on April 8.
21-year-old Andrea Flores was also arrested as his suspected accomplice during several of the alleged robberies.
Gainey and Flores were arrested on April 8. Gainey was also in possession of methamphetamine and a stolen ballistics vest, police said.
