Sheriff’s Office: Portola man arrested after deputies find stolen vehicle, trove of illegal drugs
A Plumas County man was recently arrested on numerous drug charges after a stolen vehicle was found at his home, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
On the afternoon of April 5, deputies arrested 36-year-old Christopher Cortina of Portola after a vehicle reported stolen out of Reno was spotted on Cortina’s Grizzly Road property.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for Cortina’s residence and reportedly discovered several ounces of methamphetamine and cocaine, hundreds of Xanax and MDMA pills, anabolic steroids, tabs of LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, several pounds of packaged marijuana, prescription medications, and other items indicating narcotics sales.
Investigators also found several ghost guns, a loaded AR-15 style weapon, and other items used in the manufacturing of firearms, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Cortina, who is a previously convicted felon, remains in custody at the Plumas County Correctional Facility on $500,000 bail.
