“The San José Police Department’s Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU) arrested Ivan Galicia Palalia for kidnapping to commit felony sex crimes, assault with intent to commit felony sex crimes, and kidnapping.
On March 25th, 2022, at approximately 3:30 AM, patrol Officers responded to an assault incident in the area of Loma Verde Drive and Eden Avenue in San José. The preliminary investigation revealed that an intoxicated adult female survivor was approached by the adult male suspect. The suspect picked up the female survivor and attempted to abduct her for the purposes of sexual assault. San José Police Department’s Sexual Assault Investigations Unit was contacted and took over the investigation.
During the follow up investigation it was determined that the suspect had seen the survivor while outside of a downtown San José nightclub. The suspect observed the survivor and her friends leaving the downtown entertainment zone, and he followed them to the area of the crime.
The San José Police Department’s Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU) located and arrested the suspect later that morning. Palalia was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.”
