RBST and GTF Collab Digs Deep for 2 Weeks – Nabs 2 Alleged Violent Robbers
PERRIS – After violently assaulting a customer inside a local market on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 9:03 P.M., two adult male suspects fled on foot – along with the attacked man’s chain necklace and pendant. Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies gave quick response to the 2000 block of N. Perris Blvd., where they learned that the pair were regular patrons there.
Nearly two hours later, Jarod Chapple (22), of Perris returned to the scene of the crime at approximately 11:01 P.M. Deputies secured a positive identification for an expedient arrest, and later subsequent booking – for Robbery -into Cois Byrd Detention Center.
A deep delve into the case by the Perris Station’s Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) produced the identity of the other half of the assaultive duo – Robert Tipton (27) of Perris. Investigators positively ID’d him as the 2nd suspect.
Two weeks later, Perris RBST and Perris Gang Task Force (GTF) conducted a surveillance operation on April 14th at approximately 10:15 AM. They pinpointed and arrested Tipton near his home. This paved the way to an issuance of a search warrant – written expressly for a search of his home.
There, on the 100 block of Oaktree Drive, evidence of the crime was found in the house. The ongoing investigation included the booking of Tipton for Robbery into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
