“Yesterday at 11:19 in the morning, Yolo County Sheriff’s Deputies and the California Highway Patrol responded to Highway 16 and County Road 85B for a vehicle accident where shots were fired, and the suspect had fled in his vehicle.
Deputies canvased the area and located the suspect vehicle at the 24000 block of Main Street in Capay. While on scene, it was discovered the driver of the vehicle had gone to the residence and fired additional rounds and fled on foot.
Deputies set a perimeter around the location and located the suspect identified as 43-year-old, Esparto resident, Lynn Hayes near a field and safely took him into custody. Deputies recovered a .25 caliber handgun in the field where Hayes was found and later retrieved an additional revolver from Hayes’ residence.
Hayes was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm, brandishing a firearm and is pending additional charges form CHP for a hit and run. The Yolo County Sheriff’s office would like to thank CHP and the West Sacramento Police Drone team for their assistance.”
