Sheriff’s Office: Butte County man caught with “substantial amount” of fentanyl

“On May 10 at approximately 11:30 pm, Butte County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Buchwalter conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation on Palermo Road. During the traffic stop the driver advised the deputy of an illegal item in the vehicle.

The deputy then conducted a search and located a substantial amount of Fentanyl, as well as meth and heroin. The driver was 51-year-old Eric Stephen Pillsbury.

Due to the large amount of illegal substances in the vehicle, the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force (BINTF) was requested to assist in the investigation.

A BINTF agent continued the investigation. A search was subsequently conducted at Pillsbury’s residence in the 2000 blaock of Palmero Road. Additional Fentanyl, meth and heroin, along with other items consistent with the sales of these illicit substances were recovered at the residence.

The totals include 131 grams of fentanyl (4.6 ounces), 126 grams of meth (4.4 ounces) and 13 grams of heroin.
In addition, the following items were also recovered – a scale, an imitation firearm and $2,484 in cash.

Pillsbury was arrested on charges of possession/transportation of drugs for sale and possession of a burglary tool. His bail was set at $141,000.”
