A Santa Rosa man has been arrested for alleged identity theft and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to police.
Late last month, police began looking for Michael Edward Greene, who was on active PRCS, for alleged drug trafficking with priors for identity theft. Officers found Greene on the afternoon of May 4 walking along Mooreland Avenue and were able to apprehend him after a short foot pursuit, police said.
Officers conducted a search of Greene and reportedly found a handgun in his waistband, as well as finding a bag Greene had discarded while running containing the personal identification information — names, addresses, credit card info, etc. — of multiple victims, police said.
Green was arrested and booked on a variety of charges including felony identity theft with priors, felon in possession of a firearm, and violation of Post-Release Community Supervision.
