“Not to be outdone by our night shift officers making some great proactive arrests recently, our seasoned day shift officers have also been on a roll. On Monday morning, an officer was on patrol in the 5400 block of China Garden Rd.
He observed several subjects and their vehicle loitering around a business, but no criminal activity was observed at the time. The officer left the area and conducted further research, revealing probable cause to detain the subjects. The officer observed the vehicle leaving the scene and conducted a traffic enforcement stop.
The driver had a suspended license for DUI, did not have the required Ignition Interlock Device installed in his vehicle, and had several warrants for his arrest for different DUIs.
During a search of the vehicle, a loaded firearm was found within reach of the driver. The serial number of the firearm had been grinded away.
Arrested was Ruben Flores, 38, out of American Canyon, for various charges, including 29800a1 PC – felon in posession of a firearm.”
