“On Tuesday afternoon, Madera police officers responded to a robbery that occurred at the Shell gas station on Gateway Dr. and Olive Ave.
The male suspect entered the store and demanded money from the cash register.
During the incident, the suspect discharged pepper spray at the employees and fled the area in a vehicle. Later in the shift, SIU Officer Santoyo located the suspect vehicle in the area of Rd. 29 and Ave. 13 ½.
Upon seeing the Officer, the suspect began driving evasively as it travelled eastbound on SR145. The suspect vehicle sustained damage during his attempt to evade officers and became disabled.
The suspect fled on foot into a rural property, east of Rd. 29. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect, who was identified as Tyler Easly, was taken into custody. Tyler was booked at the Madera County Jail for robbery and additional felony charges related to the case.”
