A report of suspicious individuals led to the arrests of two individuals for alleged possession of ghost guns, according to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the area of Cornelia Drive in Armona shortly after 12 AM on Tuesday, June 7, to investigate reports of two individuals wearing masks and carrying backpacks.
Responding deputies located and detained the two individuals, identifying them as 19-year-old Phabian Jackson and a 15-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was taken into custody after deputies found a loaded .9mm ghost gun hidden in his waistband and a loaded magazine in his pocket, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies then focused their attention on Jackson, who reportedly told deputies they’d been outside filming a video. Deputies searched Jackson’s backback and discovered a second ghost gun with an extended magazine, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Jackson was also taken into custody and ultimately booked on suspicion of possessing an untraceable firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public, and possession of a large capacity magazine. The juvenile faces charges of possessing an untraceable firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public, and being a minor in illegal possession of a firearm.
Jackson has since posted bail, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
