“On June 16, 2022 at about 4:35 PM, Redding Police were investigating a suspicious male who was attempting to break into rooms at the Sure Stay Plus hotel on Larkspur Lane. Wanted parolee, Jordan Broderick, fled from officers and was able to reach Interstate Highway 5, where he hid in thick brush along the northbound lanes.
California Highway Patrol ground units and air units responded to assist. They observed Broderick making furtive movements and tracking the location of the officers searching for him, who could not see his position.
Officer Rouland and his partner, K-9 Chase began to track Broderick and ultimately located him, fully concealed from sight in the thick bushes. Broderick continued to resist officers and ultimately was apprehended by K-9 Chase. After his arrest, Broderick was found to have additional warrants out of multiple jurisdictions for violent offenses, including robbery.
