A Napa County man was arrested twice in the same weekend in what police are describing as a “weekend crime spree.”
31-year-old Angel Zavala, whom police say is currently on probation for possession of a stolen vehicle, is the primary suspect in multiple incidents over the weekend, with an hours-long stint in jail between them.
On Saturday, June 25, Zavala was reportedly taken into custody after being caught with around a half-ounce of methamphetamine. He spent around five-and-a-half hours in jail and was released that afternoon, police said.
The next day, Sunday, June 26, Zavala allegedly stole a truck and trailer from the area of Jordan Lane, only to abandon both a short distance away.
He was quickly picked up again by police after being found walking along Napa River Trail, and again found to have meth on him. He was back in custody by 11 AM, police said.
Napa County jail records indicate that, as of Thursday, June 30, Zavala remains in custody.
