Three arrested after company vehicle stolen out of Woodland located in Placer County

Three people were arrested in Placer County for their alleged roles in the theft of a company vehicle out of Woodland.

On July 8, CHP tapped Placer County deputies for assistance in locating a company-owned vehicle stolen from a business in Woodland. The vehicle was outfitted with a GPS tracker and the business relayed its coordinates to authorities, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies reportedly caught up with the vehicle along eastbound I-80 near Sierra College Boulevard, and pulled the driver over on Maple Street. The driver was identified as 30-year-old Ashley Salmon of Woodland, and her two passengers identified as 34-year-old Matthew Kuehnau, also of Woodland, and 38-year-old James Thompson of Auburn.

All three were ultimately arrested — Salmon on suspicion of stealing a vehicle and conspiracy to commit a crime, and Kuehnau and Thompson on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime and receiving stolen property.
