“SUMMARY: On Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p.m., deputies with the Victor Valley Station responded to the 5300 block of Sandstone Road for a report of a man who had been shot. When deputies arrived, they found Abraham Talamantes unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life saving measures performed by deputies and emergency medical personnel, Talamantes was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the initial investigation, deputies discovered a large marijuana cultivation operation on the property. Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team responded to the location to eradicate the illegal grow.
Investigators with Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded and are conducting the homicide investigation. The suspect has not yet been identified.
UPDATE: Through continued investigation, the suspect responsible for the murder of Abraham Talamantes was determined to be 31-year-old Charles Patrick McCluskey, a convicted felon currently on probation. Investigators also determined 30-year-old Brianna Kingston to be an accessory after the fact in the murder. On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, McCluskey and Kingston were taken into custody at a residence in Crestline.
McCluskey was arrested for PC 187(a) Murder and Violation of Probation. Kingston was arrested for PC 32 Accessory After the Fact. Both suspects were booked into Central Detention Center.”
