Man arrested in connection to fatal shooting at Livermore bowling alley

LIVERMORE — Roger Garcia-Aleman, 27 of Livermore, was arrested for a triple shooting that left one man dead at a bowling alley. Garcia-Aleman, a convicted felon with numerous prior arrests, is ineligible for release on bond.
Garcia-Aleman allegedly committed the July 16 shootings after an argument escalated. Multiple shots were fired in the bar area at Granada Bowl, located at 1620 Railroad Avenue.
Three Livermore residents were shot, including 28-year-old Antonio Vargas who died at the bowling alley. Two other victims were wounded and taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Garcia-Aleman allegedly fled from the scene following the shootings. He was located and arrested a few days later, during a search of a residence in Lathrop.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and Lathrop police assisted Livermore detectives. The suspect was arrested July 20 at 1:30 a.m., near Chestnut Street and Junction Avenue.
Garcia-Aleman was booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, pending further review of the case against him. One of the wounded victims is a friend of the murder victim.
The other wounded person is a friend of the suspect. Garcia-Aleman previously served three years at San Quentin State Prison for possession of a
firearm by a felon. His conviction stemmed from an arrest involving illicit drugs and an assault with a firearm. He has 13 prior arrests, including four arrests involving controlled substances and firearms.
