Officers responded shortly before midnight on Friday, July 16, to the scene of a reported hit-and-run in the area of Belmont Avenue and First Street. A pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and, despite life-saving efforts by first responders, was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Detectives and collision reconstruction investigators collected evidence indicating that the suspect vehicle may be a grey GMC pick-up truck with significant damage to the front driver’s side headlight area, police said.
