EDCSO: Man allegedly makes threats, barricades himself in apartment

“On 07/15/2022 at about 3:00 a.m. EDSO responded to an apartment complex on La Crescenta Drive in Cameron Park for a report of a verbal altercation and a suspicious shot heard. The apartment building was evacuated and EDSO attempted to make contact with the suspect. During the initial response a firearm was recovered outside the suspect’s apartment. The suspect barricaded within his apartment and refused to surrender while making threats to law enforcement.
The EDSO SWAT team took over the incident and attempted to establish communication and directed the suspect to surrender peacefully. After a standoff for several hours and the use of many law enforcement resources, the suspect was taken into custody safely at 11:25 am. The identity of the suspect will be released when positive identification has been confirmed.
This is an ongoing investigation, and we have no further details or information to provide at this time.”
