Yuba City woman allegedly burglarizes home while resident sleeps

“On July 5, 2022 officers from the Yuba City Police Department responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Gray Avenue for an in-progress hot prowl/burglary.
The victim said when she awoke, she noticed her house had been burglarized while she was inside asleep. During the investigation, Yuba City officers located surveillance video showing an adult female walking around the house, and enter the backyard.
Over twenty minutes later, the female suspect was seen on surveillance video leaving the house with items in her hands.
Through the investigation, the female suspect was identified by officers as 29-year-old Tanya Miller from Yuba City. Officers began canvasing known areas where Ms. Miller would stay, and located her in the 800 block of West Onstott Frontage Road in Yuba City. Ms. Miller was found in her car and was arrested.
Items from the reported burglary were found in Ms. Miller’s possession, as well as additional items stolen from other residences in Sutter County.
Ms. Miller was booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges of first-degree burglary, possession of stolen property, committing a crime while out on bail, and a parole hold. Ms. Miller is currently in custody and is being held with no bail.”
