An L.A. gang member wanted for multiple charges has been arrested after he allegedly robbed an American Liquor store at gunpoint.

Steven Martinez (23) is believed to be one of two suspects who robbed the American Liquor store located at 18027 Magnolia in Fountain Valley around 9:30 AM on July 11th. Martinez held up a handgun as the suspects demanded cash from the store clerk.

The suspects took off with an undisclosed amount of cash, a high-end bottle of tequila, and various other items before police arrived. Investigation led detectives to identify Martinez as the suspect with the handgun.

Martinez was arrested by officers from the Gangs unit of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division. Officers contacted him during a traffic stop on a street close to his neighborhood in Los Angeles.

“Martinez had a loaded Glock style ‘ghost gun’ in his possession at the time of arrest,” said FVPD Det. Sgt. Bill Hughes. “He’s a documented gang member in their area.”

Martinez was already on probation in LA County for domestic violence and weapons violations; he was arrested on the additional charges of robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, and a probation hold. Martinez was booked at Orange County jail and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
