“On July 25, 2022, at 8:44 am, Chino Police Officers responded to the 12500 block of Norton Avenue for a report of a robbery that just occurred. The victim reported that he was robbed at gun point by two acquaintances. As the suspects fled, one of them fired a handgun at the victim. No one was injured and a large police presence converged on the area. After an extensive search the suspects were not located.
Chino Police Detectives along with members of our Communications Center, Crime Analysis Unit and Real Time Crime Center began working leads to the case. These leads ultimately led investigators to the city of Laguna Hills. With the assistance of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Laguna Hills Station, the suspect, Alexis Jurado, 18 years old, from Lake Forest was located and detained without incident. Upon further investigation, evidence from the crime, including two handguns were located where Jurado was staying.
Based on the teamwork by all involved personnel from various Chino Police Department Units and other allied police agencies, the suspect to this robbery and shooting was apprehended in just under 12 hours after committing this crime.”
