Man Arrested in Merced for Alleged Kidnapping, Burglary, and Domestic Violence

“Merced – On July 31, 2022, Merced PD Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of W. 14th St. in the city of Merced, to a report of an altercation between a male and female. Merced PD officers arrived on scene and found suspect RJ Blueford, broke into a residence where victim Destiny Gregory was located. Blueford assaulted Gregory and took her from the residence by force. MPD Officers searched various locations for both Blueford and Gregory and have not been able to locate them.
A warrant has been issued for Blueford for various charges including burglary, kidnapping, and domestic violence. Gregory has been listed as an at-risk missing person. Gregory is described as a white female, approximately 5’5”, 220ibs, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Update
On 08-01-22, MPD Detectives followed up on this investigation. Detectives were able to track Blueford and the victim Gregory to a residence located in the South Merced. MPD Detectives served a search warrant at the residence and located both Blueford and Gregory. Gregory was safe and declined medical attention. Gregory was offered services to Valley Crisis Center. Blueford was taken into custody and booked at Merced County Jail for various charges including kidnapping, domestic violence, and burglary.
