Redwood City PD: Gunshot Leads to Arrest

“During the evening of August 2nd at around 8:43 PM Officers responded to the 700 block of Cedar Street on the report of a firearm being discharged in the area. When officers arrived, one subject attempt to run from the scene but was quickly caught by officers.

Jesus Jahir SosaOrtega (19) of Redwood City was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.

Further investigation revealed that the handgun was stolen.

Eight shell casings were recovered in the area and were the same caliber as the gun SosaOrtega had illegally possessed. Investigation continues into who fired the shots.

SosaOrtega was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.”
