SAN RAFAEL — A man on probation was arrested after several violent incidents but no one was reported injured. In one instance, he allegedly wielded a knife during an attempted robbery.
Callers reported a man behaving violently on September 8. Reports began coming in shortly after 9:45 a.m. Officers responded to two locations before the suspect was surrounded hiding
inside a trash dumpster.
Milton Garcia-Colomo, 37, of San Rafael, faces multiple charges involving what happened that morning. Moreover, Garcia-Colomo was on probation already for felony robbery and vehicle theft.
His alleged actions September 8 included kicking and hitting a bus on the 3200 block of Kerner Boulevard. While officers were responding, more callers reported a man threatening a person with a knife.
On the 200 block of Windward Way, Garcia-Colomo allegedly approached a person and demanded money. When the victim refused to cooperate, he allegedly pulled a knife on that person. Fortunately, the victim escaped this attempted robbery unharmed.
Before officers arrived at Windward Way, Garcia-Colomo allegedly approached another person and began fighting. Witnesses pulled the suspect away from the victim and stopped the fight.
As officers arrived on the scene, Garcia-Colomo fled on foot. He ran towards a parking lot a short distance away. Next, the suspect tried evading police by hiding inside a dumpster, until officers convinced him to climb out.
Garcia-Colomo was booked for assault with a deadly weapon/knife, and attempted robbery. He also faces charges for criminal threats, obstructing/resisting an officer, and probation violation. Plus, he had an outstanding warrant for a robbery.
